Mike has been one of the BEST guitar instructors I’ve had, hands down. I’ve worked with a few instructors over the past few years, but none of them have been able to really dial-in on what I need to make meaningful progress. Mike is always able to adapt on the fly and is super in-depth. He somehow manages to break even the most complex topics down in ways that they’re super easy to digest and makes things like actually enjoyable. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had lightbulb moments as we’ve been going over concepts or music theory behind songs. Mike is super passionate about what he does, and it shows in the quality and effort he gives to his students. If you’re looking for an instructor to really push you and help you develop, Mike is the man for the job!

Mike taught me for around 6 years. He can masterfully explain tough concepts in a digestible way, and provide a healthy challenge to push your playing forward. He helped me prepare for Berklee College of Music and where even there, the techniques and lines I had learned from him continued to stand out. His teaching style readies you for live performances, but also prepares you for sensitive situations such as recording sessions. Would be hard pressed to find a more effective teacher.

15 years ago I started taking guitar lessons with Mike when I was 11. When I first picked it up I held it the wrong way. But after a few years of amazing, engaging lessons with him I was able to start improvising solos over any song I listened to. Playing guitar is my favorite pastime and I can thank Mike for that.

He makes complicated subjects such as modes and chord theory simple to understand and gets you well past the intermediate stage of playing.
